WONG, PIK YEE DORIS

Doris Pik Yee Wong is a professional art educator, with nine years’ experience in the field. Born in Hong Kong, She is a graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Doris started to design visual merchandising and clothing in 2010. As a tutor she teaches visual art in over 30 Hong Kong studios and schools; her students’ ranging from the ages of 3 to 15 years. Currently, she is studying for a Fine Arts degree with Birmingham City University.

 

​As a creative practitioner, she is interested in making artworks about the issue of human psychology such dream. Interested in surrealism, she aims to present to her audience the human thought in an irrational and ironic way through utilizing the mediums of painting and sculpture.

 

She uses three-dimensional painting to explore the wildest imagination, to ponder her future and to live out my dreams (and fears). She is particularly interested in Surrealism as she thinks that it is really important to provoke the audience's imagination and curiosity, especially as people live in a period when being imaginative and curious is not as valued as she thinks it should be.
