LAW, YUK TONG TESS

 

Tess Law (b.1996) was born in Hong Kong and graduated visual arts and culture in Hong Kong Design Institute and currently studying BA in Fine Art with Birmingham City University.

​

She has explored the art of different media, such as painting, photography and mixed media. She often focuses on nature, environment, and individual story. In addition, she was very fond of exploring human cultural behavior and creation. Through creating and exploring cultures, she can learn about different fields and things, such as the understanding of the relationship between objects and personal emotions.

​

Tess's current art is to explore traditional painting techniques, using abstract forms and structures to play with color and emotion. She aims to make big, and beautiful paintings. Also, particularly interested in how can she establish new forms of symbolism based on minimal and post-modern visual languages. Her work was inspired by Richard Tuttle, and she interests in objects and artifacts. Her current work is to find inner peace by combining structured and fluid forms of mark making, introduce the personal narratives and situating herself within the painting.
